I got 13 on the first run. About to start a second.
Personally, I like it, and not just because it gives me more time to get work done this weekend - it may be less 'fun', but on teh other hand noone needs to feel sorry for the people who miss out.
Except for that guy last year who tried to muscle me out of my camping spot. He deserved what he got. (Normally I share spots and try to divide out the areas, but trust me, this guy was being particularly obnoxious. So I drunk a sugary drink right in front of him and nabbed every single one before he got to it. He got the message... )

Hm, why support afk'lers? How's that supopsed to be a good thing for the game? Esp. for an event where you need to score to get presents.
Well ofc, it's nice to be afk while still getting all the benefit, but that's exactly the point.
And since they're (the drops) normally assigned to a player for 10 min - lag and slowness is no argument - lol.

I can't believe anyone could complain, after we pretty much demanded they change it last year. I was in the camp that made a LOT of money by picking up the presents, but it was so unfair. Some of us got hundreds, while some people got none.
I do think the idea of them dropping assigned to players is better, because it prevents afkers from benefitting, but at the same time it caused massive lag, so the auto inventory system works the best.
And in the end, does it matter if some people aren't actively participating? At least they bothered to show up, but sometimes some people are too busy to sit and wait on the computer all day.

Assignments were only given for the second run last year. (Can't remember why there was a second run, but there was one.) This time 'round, I'll afk, but I'll consider the afk stuff as compensation for having received as many presents in two rounds as some people have apparently received in one.
13 for the second round, for the record.
(Oh, and for the record? Until I go to sleep and then go to work (I'm in Australia, so most of the events are actually on Monday) I'll be participating in running charges during each event. I think I contributed 10% or so of my district's total this time around. The work needs to be done, but breaks are good...)

Ouch.
Do note, however, that they don't all drop at once - if you left early, you probably cheated yourself out of a dozen or so. You have to hang around until Kisu leaves to get your full allotment.

I have no problem with the auto inventory. Clicking to get the presents takes too long, i'd rather be afk farming

Lame.
It was more fun when the idiots AFKing rings lost their assignments and you could fight over them, but the people actually participating (or at least at their keyboards) still got stuff without having to worry about some jerkoff with a 10ms ping.
Of course, in the grand scheme of failure that is the last year of this game, this is a pretty minor one.
Fits the pattern though: do nothing substantial, get rewarded anyway. I guess it was only inevitable that the rewards had to start coming even if you aren't playing the damn game.

Well, my district 77 won and the presents dropped, but it was very boring waiting for them. This will just encourage afk.

13 again. Might try with a different character next time and see if it's character-based somehow.
After that, it'll be afk time.

Good. It was just a meaningless timesink before, and it won't tick off people who have an emergency.

I'm all for it, especially after seeing so many newer players getting ganked for their gifts last year in the "Greedathon".
Gives an across the board reward to everyone there and at the end of the day....we are talking about presents here, not ecto.

They redid it with assignments last year. Gifts dropped assigned so that everybody got a minimum amount. The only gifts that were fought over were the ones that went unclaimed for 10 minutes when the assignment timer was up: in other words, what the hell was the problem with letting people fight over AFKers' gifts?
I thought it was quite fun to try and snag a few extra from the people who went AFK on rings and neither participated in the event nor attempted to claim their undeserved prizes.

13 first time and 13 second time - two guildies in other districts each got 13. I think it is a standard drop if you win the game.

None what-so-ever imo and apologies as I must have confused myself with the "free for all" drops and tbh struggle to actually remember which year that was.
I missed the "assigned" drop festival...all I remember is the "Greedathon".

I got 7 presents the first time around, I cant remember the second time but I think it was around 7 and the third time I got 13. I quite like the inventory system, I was annoyed with all the crowding. I didn't think you would get presents by being afk on the rings, so I kept moving to inside but then I worked out you can...and am now afk on the rings. If I am around at the time then I move to help with charge running but as it is every 2 hours and I have things to do, all those boring things like cleaning and washing clothes, I can't be in front of the pc for 30 mins every 2 hours. Unfortunately.
